Billionaire Paul Singer Backs Rubio

Billionaire hedge fund manager and political megadonor Paul Singer has pledged his support for GOP presidential candidate Marco Rubio, in what is seen as yet another blow to rival Jeb Bush. Singer has donated more than $16 million to candidates and committees in the past four years, including to his own super PAC, American Unity, which backs Republicans who support gay rights. Singer sent an email to “members of his circle” Friday afternoon, asking them to join him in backing Rubio, Bloomberg reports, quoting Singer’s praise for Rubio’s “vision” and his ability to make “a compelling argument for using conservative ideas to help America adapt and thrive in the 21st century.”
