Binghamton Student Fatally Stabbed, Killer Still on the Loose

A manhunt is underway for the individual who fatally stabbed a Binghamton University freshman on Sunday night. Joao Souza, a 19-year-old engineering student, died in the hospital after he was found in his dorm room on campus with multiple stab wounds. Officials have described the suspect as a “light-skinned male wearing dark pants and a dark hoodie.” The university’s police chief, Timothy Faughnan, said “this was not a random act.”
