‘Birdman’ Wins Big at SAG Awards

Birdman took home one of the top awards for outstanding cast in a motion picture at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday. “This is the ultimate team sport, what we are doing for a living. Every time I turned around, I ran into another tremendous actor,” said Birdman star Michael Keaton during an acceptance speech. “I’m proud to be a part of this group.” Still Alice star Julianne Moore won best actress in a movie while Eddie Redmayne picked up a trophy for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. Big TV winners of the evening included Viola Davis for outstanding female actor in a drama for How to Get Away with Murder while Orange Is the New Black bested Modern Family in the best comedy ensemble cast category.
