While the rest of us were trying to wrap our brains around what exactly a bitcoin is, someone called “The Bitcoin Billionaire” amassed, yes, billions in the digital currency and has been handing out thousands of dollars worth of it to complete strangers on Reddit—which hosts a system allowing users to “tip” each other with bitcoins. A user named “bitcoinbillionaire”—for unclear reasons...—began handing out tips worth thousands of dollars on Wednesday, totaling $13,627.70 worth of bitcoins. The charity was fleeting, however. When one Reddit user begged for bitcoins, “bitcoinbillionaire” said they had “ruined it” and he was “done.”
