Bitcoin Trader Accused of Strangling Girlfriend to Death in Thailand

Well-known bitcoin trader Troy Woody Jr. and his roommate, Mir Islam, have been arrested for allegedly strangling Woody’s girlfriend, Tomi Michelle Masters, to death and dumping her body in Manila, Philippines, according to a report. Woody and Islam can be seen on surveillance footage putting a large box allegedly carrying Masters’ body into a taxi on Dec. 23, the Daily Mail reports. They then allegedly stopped at the Pasig River in Manila before returning to the taxi. Their driver later reported the suspicious passengers to local police who searched the river and found Masters’ body covered in scratches inside of a garbage bag. When questioned by police, each man accused the other of the crime. There is currently no known motive for the murder. Woody, who has 17,000 followers on Twitter and 250,000 followers on Instagram, describes himself as an early crypto investor.
