Bloomberg Going All Out for Conventions

Bloomberg is unleashing a new daily magazine for the Republican and Democratic conventions. Bloomberg Insider is intended to compete with The Washington Post and Politico and show off Bloomberg Government, a subscription-only website geared toward lobbyists and government organizations. Bloomberg also plans to have more of a presence at the convention, carving out its own press area as opposed to previous years when it reportedly had to share space with Al Jazeera. “The whole decision to do the daily magazine is an outgrowth of the extraordinary expansion of Bloomberg’s presence in Washington over the past couple of years, and reflecting that, a commitment to a much bigger presence at the conventions than we’ve ever contemplated in the past,” said Bloomberg LP’s chief content officer, Norman Pearlstine.
