The saga of Bloomberg vs. Big Soda continues. The American soft-drink industry, along with several partners, filed a lawsuit Friday against New York Mayor Bloomberg’s new restrictions on soda sizes. Starting in March, sweet drinks over 16 ounces will not be allowed at restaurants, street carts, entertainment venues, or sports stadiums. The suit was filed to the State Supreme Court in Manhattan, and claims the Board of Health does not have authority to pass the rules. It’s backed by the Teamsters representing soft-drinks workers, the National Restaurant Association, and the American Beverage Association.
