You’d think that, as the Mayor of New York City (and a media mogul), Michael Bloomberg would have access to insider information, but he reportedly was unaware of Barack Obama’s upcoming New York visit until he read it online. “I just saw on the blogs this morning he was coming in, so I haven’t talked to anyone in the White House,” said Bloomberg on Monday. The president is set to give a talk at the Cooper Union on Thursday regarding Wall Street reform, a major point of contention between the two politicians. As Obama pushes for a bill tightening restrictions on Wall Street, Bloomberg has spoken out in support of financial institutions saying, “The government can never keep up with everything. These are complex worlds we live in. That’s not true only of finance. That’s true of everything the government regulates.”
