New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has quite the task before him: He has pledged to have all of the city’s streets plowed by Thursday morning. Bloomberg said he was “extremely dissatisfied” with the city’s response and that it was “a lot worse” than the response to other recent storms. City officials say that about one-third of “tertiary” streets have not been plowed, mostly in South Brooklyn and Staten Island. The mayor also said that the city hired 1,200 day laborers to shovel snow Wednesday.
