As Canadian voters went to the polls to elect a new prime minister, the Toronto Blue Jays also claimed victory Monday night, beating the Kansas City Royals 11-8 victory at home in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series. The Blue Jays pounded the Royals with six runs in the third inning, five of them scored off two home runs. Troy Tulowitzki drilled a three-run blast to center off the Royals’ Johnny Cueto while Josh Donaldson hit a two-run shot off relief pitcher Kris Medlen. The Royals came back to score four runs in the ninth inning, including two on a long home run by Kendrys Morales. The Blue Jays win closes the Royals’ series lead to 2-1. Game 4 will begin at 4:07 ET Tuesday in Toronto.
