Bo Jackson: I Wish I’d Known About CTE

Bo Jackson, the NFL great who was not only a Pro Bowler but also an All-Star in baseball, said in an interview with USA Today that he would have never played football had he known about the dangerous head injuries now popping up in players. “If I knew back then what I know now,’’ Jackson said, “I would have never played football. Never. I wish I had known about all of those head injuries, but no one knew that. And the people that did know that, they wouldn’t tell anybody.” He added that “We’re so much more educated on this CTE stuff [chronic traumatic encephalopathy], there’s no way I would ever allow my kids to play football today.”
