SELLOUT

Bob Marley to Be Face of Corporate Pot

Bob Marley finally sold out. Marley has been dead for more than 30 years but he will be the name and face of the first global marijuana brand. A Seattle-based private-equity firm and the Marley family announced the launch of Marley Natural, “a premium cannabis brand rooted in the life and legacy” of Marley. “Bob Marley started to push for legalization more than 50 years ago. We’re going to help him finish it,” said Brendan Kennedy, chief executive of Privateer Holdings, which owns Marley Natural. “It just seems natural that Daddy should be part of this conversation,” said Cedella Marley, 47, the musician’s oldest daughter. “As Daddy would say, ‘Make way for the positive day.’”
