So much for that friendly golf game last month: John Boehner addressed a closed gathering of House Republicans on Tuesday morning, saying he was “pissed” that he and President Obama had not yet been able to reach a compromise on overhauling the current tax code, and criticized Obama for failing to effectively lead the debt crisis. But he also warned that that if the parties don’t reach an agreement soon, Republicans will lose ground in the debate as the Aug. 2 default deadline rapidly approaches. Still fuming after the meeting, Boehner blatantly blamed Obama for the debt increase, saying it was “his problem.” As if that wasn’t enough, he went on to say that Obama “talks a good game, but when it comes time to actually putting these issues on the table, making decisions, he can’t quite pull the trigger.”
