According to reports from residents of the Nigerian town of Damasak, Boko Haram militants kidnapped over 400 women and children on Tuesday on their way out of town. “They took 506 young women and children. They killed about 50 of them before leaving,” a trader told Reuters. “We don’t know if they killed others after leaving, but they took the rest with them.” The town was freed of Boko Haram by Chadian and Nigerian troops earlier this month.
