Bomb Kills Dozens of Iraqi Shiites

Wounds 90 in southern port city.

At least 55 Shiite pilgrims are dead and 90 wounded after a bomb ripped through the southern city of Basra Saturday. The attack happened outside the town of Zubair, which is mainly a Sunni area. The bombing targeted Shiites who were celebrating the end of a religious mourning period for a Shiite figure, and it comes just one week after the U.S. withdrawal. Police have not confirmed whether it was a suicide or roadside bombing.
