It wasn’t that terrorists had forgotten the explosives on the bomb-like device found during a bag check of an Air Berlin flight in Namibia Thursday: The suitcase containing a timer, batteries, and wires was a “real test suitcase” designed to test security. This revelation raises new questions, namely, who was doing the testing. German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere, who issued a terror alert the day before the suitcase was found, said, "In case the question arises about whether German security officials might have been behind this (test), I would consider that to be unlikely.” Mia Davids, a public relations officer at the Namibian Airports Company said, “it wasn’t a drill.”
