After criticism over agents’ use of force, the U.S. Border Patrol announced it has purchased body cameras and will being testing them at its training academy this year. The agency did not say how many cameras were bought, or when they might be used in the field. However, introducing the cameras is likely to face opposition from the union representing border agents. In May, an internal report released by the agency highlighted issues about agents using unnecessary deadly force.
