The notion of having a go-to look for a first date sounds well and good, but your clothes need to be chosen specifically for each outing with a new partner. It’s fine to have a few typical items—a leather jacket and nice boots, for instance—but your outfit should make sense within your date’s setting. Don’t show up to the bar in a tie, unless the cocktails and atmosphere justify the dressier choice. Be aware of your environment, and attuned to it. She’ll know that means you’re attuned to her, as well. Dress to impress, but show you’ve put some consideration into your date—seduction is about the details.
