A church in Monterrey, Mexico, collapsed after heavy rains flooded the area and killed a boy who was attending mass, according to a public official. The Church of Santa Clara de Asis, a Roman Catholic church, was under construction when a tarp that was being used as a roof fell in because of the rain. Twenty-four others were wounded when the tarp came down, bringing the concrete structure with it. Juarez Mayor Rodolfo Ambriz said that the wounded were taken to local hospitals but that he didn't have any further information about the severity of their injuries.
