The legendary Brazilian soccer team had to work for their first win in their 2010 Cup debut, but the five-time champions came through victorious, beating North Korea 2-1. North Korea, who entered the tourney as the lowest-ranked team, put up a strong fight. Brazil's Maicon sank the first goal of the game, shooting into the far right corner in the 55th minute, and teammate Elano followed up with a second goal in the 72nd minute. In the 89th minute of play, North Korea's Ji Yun Nam brought his team one goal, but ultimately the match went to the Brazilians. North Koreans were able to watch their team lose for free: The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union provided the isolated nation with a free broadcast of the match to bring North Koreans "aspirations and hopes" and shed some light onto the outside world. Earlier today the highly anticipated match between Portugal and the Ivory Coast resulted in a 0-0 draw.
