One of Brazil's foremost buttocks-enhancing plastic surgeons, known as Dr. Bumbum, has gone on the run after one of his patients died. Investigators say Bumbum, real name Denis Furtado, administered buttocks injections to a woman at his home in Rio de Janeiro, but she soon fell ill. Furtado took Lilian Calixto to a hospital but her condition worsened and she died some hours later, police say. The bottom surgeon then disappeared and a judge has issued a warrant for his arrest. Furtado, 46, is regularly seen on Brazilian TV and has nearly 650,000 followers on Instagram. Calixto was a 46-year-old married mother of two who worked in banking and had traveled from central Brazil to undergo the procedure on Saturday evening. The practice, believed to involve the injection of acrylic glass filler, took place at his apartment in the upmarket Rio district of Barra de Tijuca. The exact cause of death has not been confirmed.
