Television critics, rejoice: AMC has renewed critical-darling Breaking Bad for 16 final episodes beyond the current season, its fourth. The finale date is not yet certain, however, as the network hasn’t decided whether it will air the shows as a single fifth season or break it up into two shorter seasons. “This is a great gift to me and to my wonderful writers,” said the show’s creator, Vince Gilligan. “It’s knowledge which will allow us to properly build our story to a satisfying conclusion.”
