Bret Michaels Speaks on Hemorrhage

After spending 10 days in an intensive-care unit, 47-year-old rocker and reality-TV star Bret Michaels is already speaking out about his massive subarachnoid brain hemorrhage. In the latest issue of People, the Rock of Love star reveals that he feels “lucky to be alive,” and that he did not want his two children, who are 5 and 9 years old, to see him on his death bed. “I said in these exact words, ‘Am I dying? If I’m dying, I want to see my kids, but if I have a chance, I don’t want them to see me in this condition,’” he told the magazine. Doctors expect Michaels, who is at a rehab facility, to make a full recovery.
