British Cops Probe Sexual-Assault Claims Against Kevin Spacey

One man alleges the actor sexually assaulted him in 2008.

British police are investigating a man’s claims that actor Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted him in 2008, The Guardian reported Friday. Spacey is accused of sexually assaulting the then 23-year old man after he passed out in the actor's home. The man told police he had been asking Spacey for help with his career and that he was told to keep quiet after the assault. The alleged assault happened while Spacey was working as the artistic director of the Old Vic theater in London. “On 1 November, City of London police referred an allegation of sexual assault to the Metropolitan police service,” a Scotland Yard spokesman said. “It is alleged a man assaulted another man in 2008 in Lambeth. Officers from the child abuse and sexual offenses command are investigating.” The UK does not have a statute of limitations on sex crimes. Several people have come forward in the past week accusing Spacey of a history of sexual assault.
