This week, Taylor Swift does some serious reading, Christina Applegate sucks up to her boss, the Glee boys channel the Village People, and Paris Hilton takes a trip down memory lane with Nicole Richie. Also, find out if Hugh Hefner can pull off planking, and why Kelly Ripa’s husband has his gun ready for Regis in this week’s best celebrity Twitter pictures.

Iconic playboy Hugh Hefner has plenty of young Bunnies to keep him up on the latest trends. But who would have thought the 85-year-old newly single bachelor could pull off planking? He attempted the sensationalized stunt upon the recommendation of his new girlfriend, Miss January 2011 Anna Sophia Berglund, who proudly tweeted, “I got Hef to plank!” Soon enough, they were doing it like bunnies. “#plankingplaymates,” tweeted Shera Bechard, Hefner’s other new girlfriend and Miss November 2010, with this group shot.

If her lovelorn lyrics are any indication, Taylor Swift is clearly deep. Her literary choices, however, are another story. “Just doing some pre-show sophisticated reading. Very serious material here,” the country crooner joked via Twitter, referring to this Cuddly Kittens children’s book.

John Stamos and Nick Jonas were busy practicing their upcoming performance at the Hollywood Bowl. Stamos tweeted, “me and my slightly younger brother @nickjonas studying for HAIRSPRAY.” Though the 47-year-old former Full House star may think he looks good for his age, his 18-year-old Disney costar disagreed. Jonas tweeted back, “Try slightly senile grandfather: )”

Smurfs star Sofia Vergara is back on the Modern Family set for its third season. The sexy TV mom to Manny (Rico Rodriguez) tweeted, “First day back on the Modern Family set and celebrating Rico's bday!!!:)” Rodriguez turned 13 this week, and his on-screen mom was clearly happy to be there to sing “Happy Birthday.”

Does the Glee cast like to stay at the YMCA? The show’s resident bad boy, Mark Salling, dressed up with fellow costars as the Village People. A motorcycle-cop-clad Salling was joined by Chris Colfer, who suited up as the soldier; Darren Criss, who dared to be the leather daddy with unruly chest hair; Cory Monteith, who rocked the headdress; and Harry Shum, who went country as the cowboy. Salling tweeted, “The glee bros and I wanted to keep up our chops up over the hiatus so we formed a tribute band.”

Childhood friends and former frenemies Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie wandered down memory lane. Hilton tweeted, “@NicoleRichie, look at this old pic I just found. You look exactly like Harlow! Too cute! :)” Richie responded to the comparison between her and her 3-year-old daughter with “Damn I need a flatiron!”

Kelly Ripa’s husband recently walked in on a bikini-clad Ripa with her Live! co-host, Regis Philbin. Consuelos tweeted, “Look who i found in my pool with my wife. Getting my shotgun.” It doesn’t seem that Consuelos has much to worry about, though, especially since his wife told Regis—on air—what an active sex life she and her husband share.

Currently touring pop princess Britney Spears asked fans to support the Show Your Hearts Campaign, created to raise money for the Joshua and Robin Berry Children’s Trust. Spears tweeted, “Change your profile picture today & make sure to #showyourhearts.” The fund will benefit three children whose parents were killed in a car crash this past July. Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Ellen DeGeneres, and other stars have tweeted in support of the cause.

Spears wasn’t the only famous do-gooder on Twitter this week. While shooting a spot for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Campaign, 30 Rock star Elizabeth Banks got the ultimate treatment. She tweeted, “Have you heard of the six hand rule? here's me w four hands on happily shooting for the #AmericanHeartAssociation.”

Bravo’s Watch What Happens host Andy Cohen interviewed Neil Patrick Harris after the first installment of the Real Housewives of New York reunion special. Cohen challenged Harris to complete a series of tasks, from shot taking to balloon making. NPH prevailed, and Cohen tweeted, “There's nothing @ActuallyNPH can't do!! What a great guest. Thanks Neil.”

Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr flaunted her fit new-mom figure at the DJs' Spring-Summer Parade in Sydney. Kerr tweeted, “Ready to go for Djs show! Thanks Renya and @napoleonperdis,” giving her hair and makeup professionals a shout-out.

Christina Applegate, the upcoming star of NBC’s Up All Night, posed with the new series’ producer and Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels. Applegate tweeted, “That is a pic and me and my boss Lorne Michaels.....He is a nice fellow and Kind of a legend.” In Up All Night, Applegate plays opposite 30 Rock star Will Arnett as a new mom who heads back to work while her husband stays at home. “It’s a funny take [on raising a child] but it starts in a real place. All good comedy starts in a real place,” the recent first-time mother herself told Entertainment Weekly. “Obviously, raising a child is ridiculous and funny and things happen.”
