A 6-year-old girl was found dead in a squalid Bronx apartment where police had been summoned in the past to investigate arguments and allegations of child neglect, the New York Daily News reported. Jalayah Eason had bruises on her wrists and chest—and two other children in the apartment also had bruises. “Mommy hit me,” one of those children told police, a law enforcement source told the Daily News. No cause of death has been pinpointed, and no arrests have been made.
