Icelandic airline WOW Air has ceased operations and has canceled all flights, according to its website. Passengers who had travel plans must now “book with other airlines.” The BBC reports the financially troubled airline had been in talks with investors to try to keep the company afloat. The airline, which was founded in 2011, carried 3.5 million passengers last year with regular flights from Boston and Washington, D.C. to European destinations. It also flew from London’s Stansted and Gatwick airports. Only passengers with travel insurance or who had booked through certain travel agents would be eligible for refunds. The company employed 1,000 people and had 11 aircraft.
