Burberry Plans 3D Broadcast

Design house to stream 2D online, 3D at parties.

Avatar is soon coming to a runway near you: Burberry will stream its show during London Fashion Week worldwide. The Fall/Winter 2010/2011 lines will be available for viewing online at http://live.burberry.com, but a select few will be able to catch the show in 3D at screenings in New York, Paris, Dubai, Tokyo, and Los Angeles. Burberry's CEO, Christopher Bailey, said that he hopes the show will "enable people to experience the energy and atmosphere of this event from around the world," adding that "3D technology will bring our global audience into the London show space allowing them to see the colors and fabrics, to hear the music and to be a part of that moment when it all finally comes together.’’ The show—the first of its kind—will take place on February 23 at the Chelsea College of Art and Design, and will be shown live around the world.
