While traveling around a sharp bend in rural Guatemala, a bus headed for Guatemala City Monday dropped roughly 660 feet off a cliff, resulting in the death of at least 38 people, including six children. Rescue workers on the scene described the bus as being totally ruined and reported that 46 people with injuries were taken to nearby hospitals. Many of the passengers were vendors transporting farm produce to markets, according to a local television report. The cause of the crash is still unknown.
