A raging forest fire in Northern Israel killed 41 prison guards when their bus was engulfed in flames. They were on their way to evacuate about 600 prisoners from a detention facility in the Mount Carmel Forest, near the northern city of Haifa. Windswept flames suddenly changed direction and blew across the road in front of the bus, immediately setting it on fire. "This is an unprecedented disaster," President Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address. Dozens of people were injured and wildlife was displaced as the fire continues to blaze. So far, about 15,000 people have been evacuated.
