Delaware's chief medical examiner confirmed that former Pentagon official John P. Wheeler III died of "blunt force trauma after being assaulted." There are still no details as to how Wheeler's body ended up at the Cherry Island landfill on New Year's Eve or where he was assaulted. Video footage from 48 hours prior to finding his body show Wheeler disoriented, carrying a shoe, and looking for his car in a parking lot a block away from where it was originally parked.
