Business Has Its Best Quarter Ever

Does this mean they can start putting Americans back to work? American businesses had their best quarter ever in the third quarter of 2010; they earned $1.66 trillion in profits. Despite this fact, the economy remains sluggish, growing at a rate of just 2.5 percent a year. That’s too slow to help with unemployment or to prevent deflation. The profits of American companies are due to productivity growth and overseas markets, like China and India.
