The second person to ever walk on the moon, Buzz Aldrin, will become a research professor of aeronautics at the Florida Institute of Technology, according to University President Anthony Catanese. Catanese says the school will “establish the Buzz Aldrin Institute” and “continue our connection with the space program, this time focusing on getting younger people interested in going to Mars.” Aldrin has a doctorate in astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has advocated a human mission to Mars in recent years.
