It’s about time. The mom of troubled former child star Amanda Bynes has reportedly filed for conservatorship over her daughter, who’s currently being treated in a psychiatric hospital. Bynes is allegedly suffering from an illness “with schizophrenic tendencies” and was arrested and placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold after lighting a fire in the driveway of an elderly woman Monday. The conservatorship would give Bynes’s mom authority over certain parts of her life and will be discussed in court Friday. Bynes and her father has been estranged, but he has visited her in the hospital.
