A janitor fatally shot his boss, the school principal, at the Louisiana Schnell Elementary School in Sacramento Wednesday morning. Police said Sam LaCara, 50, died from a single gunshot wound to the torso. The suspected shooter, John Luebbers, was arrested at his home after he tried to flee the scene on foot. Police said they didn't know if Luebbers had a prior criminal record, although some school parents said they’d been trying to have him fired for scaring students. There was some indication of a dispute between Luebbers and LaCara, police said, but the exact cause of the shooting has not yet been determined. The school was on lockdown Wednesday, before students were sent home early.
