A widespread wildfire blazed across 47,000 acres in northern California on Sunday, destroying dozens of buildings and homes and threatening to damage 6,000 more. The Rocky Fire, which is burning west of Sacramento, Calif., has forced around 12,000 people to flee their homes and closed several highways. CalFire spokesman Daniel Berlant said just five percent of the fire was contained as of Sunday afternoon. Officials added nearly 2,000 firefighters were battling the fire and another 6,000 personnel were on hand to help with 20 additional large fires across the state. On Saturday, a firefighter died while working to contain the Frog Fire, about 100 miles south of Oregon.
