California Chrome has won the 140th annual Kentucky Derby, narroly beating Commanding Curve in 70-degree weather at Churchill Downs. Ridden by Victor Espinoza, California Chrome has won four races in a row and established himself as the favorite. He was the fourth California-bred horse to win the Derby, and the first since 1962.
