A raging wildfire that has been burning through northern California for nearly two weeks claimed its seventh victim on Saturday, authorities say. A power company lineman working for PG&E Corporation, the state’s gas and power company, was killed while working in the area of the Carr Fire in Shasta County. The company offered condolences for its “fallen team member” in a statement Saturday but did not provide further details about how he was killed of what he was doing in the area. The death came as several other wildfires swelled over the weekend, with one fire, the Mendocino Complex, forcing about 20,000 residents to flee.
