Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton suffered two fractures in his lower back after a car accident in downtown Charlotte on Tuesday. His truck, which allegedly hit a Buick on the front right side, flipped several times. Both Newton and the Buick’s driver were transported by ambulance to the hospital on backboards and in neck braces. A witness on the scene described Newton as “alert” but “in pain.”
