Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz attempted to put an end to feud rumors with a cringey song in promotion of their upcoming flick Back in Action. In a clip shared by Netflix, the stars sat down at a piano to sing about their 25 years of friendship while mixing in references to their film. “Back in action! Back in action! Satisfaction! We’re back in action,” Foxx sings, as Diaz shimmies. They then begin to discuss the origin of their friendship, which they said began when they both appeared in the 1999 football flick, Any Given Sunday. Foxx croons that the two have “been friends since before Apple started making the iPod, and now they make the iPhone and not the iPod.” Back in March 2023, The U.S. Sun reported that Foxx had a “major meltdown” on the set of Back in Action that resulted in four crew members being fired. Later that month, The Daily Mail reported that “drama and confrontation” in Hollywood was making Diaz reconsider her decision to start acting again, though she didn’t have an issue with Foxx. Diaz hadn’t appeared in a film since 2014 before she signed on to do the film with Foxx.
