British Prime Minister David Cameron will hold a parliamentary debate on Friday on whether the United Kingdom should join in airstrikes against ISIS in Iraq, Downing Street announced. Cameron's move comes against a backdrop of rising support in Britain for military intervention against the so-called Islamic State. Parliament is now in recess, but the premier has recalled it to meet after he returns from the current United Nations General Assembly in New York. Cameron told Assembly attendees that the U.N. should be "uncompromising" in hunting down ISIS extremists. France recently launched airstrikes against ISIS in Iraq.
