British Prime Minister David Cameron said Wednesday that he had authorized the use of water cannons on protesters. Cameron said water cannons, previously used only in Ulster, will be available on 24 hours’ notice to deal with “despicable violence” in London and other neighboring cities where riots have taken over the streets. Cameron said that “nothing is off the table” and the government will do “whatever is necessary” to stop the riots that have gripped London for five nights and have also spread to neighboring cities of Manchester and Birmingham. Cameron called the protesters “frankly sick” and said they represented “a complete lack of responsibility, a lack of proper parenting, a lack of proper upbringing, a lack of proper ethics, a lack of proper morals.”
