A Canadian Border agent was shot under unknown circumstances on Tuesday, leading to the closing of the Peace Arch crossing on the border shared by Canada and Washington state, the Associated Press reports. The border will remain closed until Canadian officials make the determination to reopen it, and travelers should find other routes, said Kris Olsen, a spokesman for the Washington state Department of Transportation. Few details of the incident were immediately available, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said they would hold a press conference.
