The downed ship used by the legendary Captain James Cook, who claimed Australia for the British, is likely in Rhode Island's Newport Harbor. Researchers said they are 80 to 100 percent certain that the Endeavour—also known as the Lord Sandwich—sank in the area after it was hit by British soldiers in 1778. Analysts are to announce the findings based on documents from London that helped map sites where the ship could be located.
