Car Bomb Kills 30 at Afghan Hospital

Taliban says they weren't involved.

A car bomb exploded outside an Afghan hospital in Logar province on Saturday morning, killing at least 30 people and wounding 45 more, according to local officials. Patients, visitors, and staff were among the victims, and the death toll is expected to climb as rescuers sift through the rubble. The Taliban, which has claimed responsibility for previous suicide bombings as part of their aggressive Spring offensive, denied any involvement in the attack. The governor's office in Logar province initially believed the bomb was a suicide attack, but then discovered that the car was parked and vacated before it exploded.
