Forensic tests by British police show that a failed mail bomb discovered inside a printer cartridge on a cargo flight en route from Yemen to the U.S. could have exploded in American skies. Had the device activated, tests show, it would have been timed to explode as the flight was crossing over the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. A second mail bomb that originated in Yemen was caught and disarmed in Dubai.
