Carla Fendi, one of the founding sisters of the global Fendi fashion house, died on Monday following a long illness. She was 79 years old. The Rome-based fashion house is known for its luxury furs and was first opened in 1964. The Fendi fashion house confirmed Fendi’s death, expressing pain and gratitude for Fendi’s contributions. Each of the five Fendi sisters had a role in the company—Carla Fendi served as Fendi president and honorary president until her death.
