It was the impromptu wedding these two Sleater-Kinney fans could only have imagined in their wildest dreams.

Amy Poehler was hosting a Q&A session with Carrie Brownstein at an event in the Pasadena Presbyterian Church for the guitarist-turned-comedy-star’s new memoir Hunger Makes Me a Modern Woman when two women stood up and asked if the pair of celebrities would help them get married—right then and there.

According to one member of the audience, the couple had heard through the grapevine that Brownstein was an ordained minister, a fact she confirmed, explaining that she plans to officiate the wedding of some friends later this month.

Always prepared to say “yes and,” Poehler got behind the church’s piano and started playing “Greensleeves” as Brownstein bestowed some heartfelt words upon the couple.

“All of us here are rooting for you,” she said to cheers from the crowd. “We are rooting for you in the way that we always root for ourselves, in the way that we root for love to always win out over despair, for hope to win out over fear, for joy to win out over sorrow… We root for the two of you to make each other feel the biggest, strongest, most special you ever felt.”
