Sargent Shriver's children encouraged mourners to be hopeful rather than cynical at a memorial service for the Peace Corps founder. Shriver "was infused with God's spirit," his son Tim Shriver said, adding that his father encouraged his children to have big ideas. "I hope you, too, will carry a little 'Sarge' in you." Maria Shriver, the journalist and wife of former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, said the family is comforted "knowing that Daddy is in heaven with God and Mummy," referring to Shriver's late wife, Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
