Walt Disney Co.’s Cars 3 unseated Wonder Woman as the No. 1 film at the box office this weekend, bringing in an estimated $53.5 million domestically in its opening weekend. The third film in the Pixar franchise, Cars 3 sees Owen Wilson return to lend his voice to race car Lightning McQueen, while the latest installment also features the voices of Kerry Washington, Cristela Alonzo, and Larry the Cable Guy. Although the film fell below analyst expectations of a $60 million debut weekend, it was well received by critics, with a 65 percent positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Wonder Woman, which held the top spot in theaters for the past two weekends in a row, fell to second place with $40.8 million in domestic ticket sales. All Eyez on Me, a biopic about rapper Tupac Shakur, came in third place with $27.1 million in its opening weekend—far above analyst expectations.
